My Journey… My Story…
My journey with food started when my late Uncle fed me a piece of his speciality dish (Jeera Chicken). This was the first time I had ever tasted non veg food and so many flavours exploding in my mouth at the age of 3 years old.
The first thing I cooked was an omelette. This wasn’t your ordinary omelette, I experimented by adding some spices to bring it to life. Call it beginners’ luck but this omelette actually tasted really good.
Let’s fast forward to my mid 20’s when I was living in the vibrant city of Prague. This chapter of my life was a rollercoaster to say the least. Living alone in an unknown city was hard enough let alone trying to find the right spices to cook. I had to improvise and experiment with whatever I could find. Here is where the Chef within me really came alive.
I started surprising myself with some of the food I was making. The inner Chef was in full swing once I moved back home. I started learning from YouTube, experimenting further with different techniques, recipes and dishes.
I have spent the last couple of years keeping the Chef inside me at bay. Leading a busy lifestyle made me think this dream of mine will never come true. During this lockdown I’ve used the free time to watch YouTube tutorials and learn new dishes.Times have been hard recently for everybody, but it’s also been a journey of self-discovery.
One evening I put on a Bollywood movie called “Tamasha”, if you’ve seen it then you’ll know it’s about a man’s journey of self-discovery. I could really relate to this character in the film and his journey felt like my journey. This film inspired me to say the least. I said to myself “it’s now or never, I’ve got nothing to lose so just do it!
This is how B The Chef was born. The “B” stands for Bhavick (me) and “The Chef” stands for the chef within me who has been dying to be set free. Not only does B The Chef represent me, but I want to spread my passion for flavours and food
